1. New Road Connectivity Projects in Hilly Districts
The Cabinet approved ₹320 crore for rural road construction and repair in Dhalai, North Tripura, and Gomati districts.
“This move is aimed at improving last-mile connectivity in tribal and remote areas,” said a senior PWD official.
Target: 450 km road upgrade under PMGSY Phase-III

2. Major Boost to Higher Education – 5 New Government Colleges
A proposal was cleared to open 5 new state-run degree colleges in under-served areas like Gandacherra, Khowai, and Belonia.
These colleges will focus on science and vocational education, aiming to reduce the migration of students to other states.
Estimated Cost: Rs 170 crore
Expected Enrolment: 10,000+ students by 2027
3. Health Mission Expansion with 300+ New Medical Staff Appointments
To address staff shortages in rural health centres, the Cabinet approved new posts for doctors, nurses, and ANMs under the National Health Mission (NHM) and state quotas.

5. Deployment of Special Task Force (STF) to Monitor Border Infiltration
