Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha demonstrated solidarity with the flood-affected people of Himachal Pradesh by flagging off trucks carrying relief materials on September 9. The relief consignment, organized by the Pradesh BJP, aims to provide much-needed support to those affected by the devastating floods in Himachal Pradesh.
Addressing the gathering in front of the Pradesh BJP office, Chief Minister Saha expressed his empathy for the people of Himachal Pradesh who have been impacted by the calamity. He highlighted the widespread destruction caused by the floods, including loss of lives and damage to infrastructure such as roads and bridges. Drawing parallels to the floods that hit Tripura last year, Saha emphasized the importance of standing in solidarity with those in need during times of crisis.
Recalling the support received by Tripura from other states during its own time of need, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of reciprocating that support. He announced that Rs 5 crore from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund has already been sent to the Himachal Pradesh government, with an additional Rs 50 lakh worth of relief materials being dispatched by the Pradesh BJP.
Even though the State BJP President was unable to physically attend the ceremony as he was in Delhi, he participated virtually to show his support for the relief efforts. Chief Minister Saha stressed that it is everyone’s responsibility to come together and provide assistance to those affected by natural disasters, reaffirming the spirit of unity and compassion in times of crisis.
