AGARTALA | AUGUST 31, 2026: In a major state-wide political offensive, the Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) organized a massive protest demonstration in Agartala on Monday. The protest targeted the ruling BJP-led government over two primary issues: the alleged suppression of late DGP Anurag Dhankar’s suicide note alongside a demand for Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha’s resignation, and the registration of an FIR against Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi by Uttarakhand Police in the Haldwani “shuddhikaran” (purification) row.

We demand the Chief Minister’s resignation and the immediate dismissal of political FIRs against our national leadership.”
