The Tripura education system is celebrating a significant achievement this year, as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) results have shown a remarkable increase in pass percentages for both Class 10 and 12 students. Special Secretary of Education Raval Hemendra Kumar made the announcement at a press conference held at the Secretariat, highlighting the impressive progress made by students in the state.
According to Kumar, the Class 10 pass rates have surged to 86 per cent, marking a substantial 26 per cent increase from the previous academic year. One of the standout performances came from the Vidya Jyoti schools, with fifteen schools achieving a perfect 100 per cent pass rate in Class 10, a significant improvement from just one school last year.
Suraj Basu of Belonia Government English Medium School emerged as the state topper in Class 10, scoring an impressive 496 marks (99.2%). The performance of students in South Tripura district was particularly noteworthy, leading the state with a 92 per cent pass rate, followed closely by Khowai, Unakoti, and Sepahijala districts with 89% and 88% pass rates respectively.
In the Class 12 results, the pass percentage also saw a notable increase, reaching 71 per cent—a 21 percentage point rise from the previous year. Five Vidya Jyoti schools achieved a perfect pass rate, with Tapeshwar Pal of Shishu Bihar School securing the top position in the state with 491 marks (98.2%).
North Tripura district recorded the highest Class 12 passing percentage at 85%, while Sepahijala district had the lowest pass rate at 47.9%. The number of schools achieving over 90 per cent results also saw a significant increase, with 66 schools reaching this benchmark for Class 10 (up from just 5 last year) and 25 schools for Class 12 (up from 2).
Education Director NC Sharma expressed optimism about the future, stating that the government’s efforts to enhance educational quality will continue to yield positive results. With such impressive performance this year, Tripura’s education system is on a path of continuous improvement and success.
