Agartala, Tripura: A rally was organised in Agartala by the Tripura Manipuri Student–Youth Coordination Committee to strengthen the movement for establishing the constitutional rights of the Manipuri and other minority backward communities and to reinforce the demand for multi-tier governance.
The rally began from the Radha Madhab Temple area of Agartala and was held in connection with the committee’s upcoming fourth conference. The organisers placed a four-point charter of demands at the forefront of the programme, calling for greater political representation, protection of constitutional rights, social justice, and inclusive governance for minority and backward communities.
Addressing participants during the rally, leaders of the organisation stated that the movement aims to unite students and youth to protect democratic rights and ensure that marginalized communities receive their due recognition and participation in governance. They emphasized that multi-tier governance is essential for safeguarding cultural identity and ensuring equitable development.
The rally witnessed active participation from students, youth members, and supporters, who raised slogans highlighting constitutional rights, social equality, and democratic empowerment. Organisers said similar programmes would continue in the coming days to mobilise public support for their demands.
