Agartala: The Forum of Civil Pensioners’ Association, Tripura State Committee, organized a peaceful mass demonstration (Gana Obosthan) near the Circuit House area in Agartala. Scores of retired government employees gathered to urge the state administration to take swift action on their long-pending rights and benefits.
Key Demands Highlighted by Retired Employees
Speaking at the event, key leaders of the association emphasized that retired personnel continue to face financial and administrative hurdles post-retirement. The primary discussions centered on:
- Timely disbursal of revised pension benefits and allowances.
- Streamlining administrative procedures to address individual pension grievances without delay.
- Ensuring comprehensive welfare measures and social security safeguards for senior citizens.
Leaders Call for Unity and Democratic Struggle
During the address, organizational representatives urged all retired employees across Tripura to remain united in pressing for their legitimate rights.
”We have repeatedly submitted requests and held discussions at various levels regarding our demands. We hope the government acts positively. If our fair demands remain unfulfilled, we will be forced to launch larger democratic movements in the days ahead,” stated a senior leader of the association during the media interaction.
The rally concluded peacefully, with participants expressing hope that relevant authorities would intervene quickly to resolve the key issues.
