Agartala: To mark the birth anniversary of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur—the architect of modern Tripura—the Tripura Forest Department organized a special tribute ceremony and state-wide plantation drive in Agartala. Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma led the solemn event along with senior departmental officials and staff to honor the visionary ruler’s legacy.
The event commenced with a tribute ceremony where Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma offered floral respect to Maharaja Bir Bikram. Speaking to the gathering, the Minister underscored the ruler’s monumental contributions to state planning, education, culture, architecture, and public welfare. He emphasized that the state’s modern infrastructure and ecological foundations trace back to the royal vision. A major highlight of the birth anniversary commemoration was a mass tree plantation drive conducted by the Forest Department. To promote environmental sustainability and foster a greener state, Minister Animesh Debbarma alongside top officials planted saplings across the venue grounds. Departmental representatives noted that honoring the royal legacy through ecological action bridges historic reverence with active environmental protection, urging citizens to actively participate in building a “Green Tripura.”
