Tripura’s West Majlishpur Gram Panchayat has been recognized for its outstanding efforts in promoting grassroots e-governance, winning the national silver award in the category of Grassroot Level Initiatives for Deepening/Widening of Service Delivery. This achievement highlights the panchayat’s successful integration of digital services to enhance local governance.
The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, commended the panchayat for its dedication to providing easy, effective, economical, and environment-friendly governance, aligning with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He praised the panchayat’s work in strengthening service delivery mechanisms and emphasized the importance of digitization in promoting transparency and efficiency in governance.
Municipal Commissioner Vishal Kumar expressed pride in the state’s recognition, attributing the success to the government’s focus on digital governance. He noted that Tripura has made significant progress in e-Governance under the leadership of Chief Minister Saha, with various government departments adopting similar digital systems to improve service delivery.
Kumar highlighted the government’s commitment to providing quality services to the people of Tripura, stating that the recognition of West Majlishpur Gram Panchayat is a testament to their efforts. He expressed hope that all Gram Panchayats in Tripura would continue to receive national-level recognition for their contributions to grassroots e-governance.
In the same category, Maharashtra’s Rohini Gram Panchayat in Shirpur block of Dhule district was awarded the Gold Award, further demonstrating the importance of digital innovation in local governance across India. The achievements of both panchayats showcase the growing trend towards e-governance at the grassroots level, paving the way for more efficient and transparent governance practices nationwide.
