In a recent address to the Parichay Prabha of newly elected committees of 8 Town Baradowali Mandal at Rabindra Bhavan Shatabarshiki Bhawan, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha emphasized the importance of a down-to-earth approach in winning the trust of the people. Dr. Saha highlighted the need for karyakartas to focus on strengthening the booths and maintaining positive relationships with residents in those areas.
The Chief Minister stressed that a leader or party’s acceptability is directly linked to their humility and connection with the people. He pointed out that the success of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in various states under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was due to their good governance and ability to understand the needs of the people.
Reflecting on the past rule of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPIM) and the Congress, Dr. Saha noted that their lack of connection with the people led to their rejection by the electorate. He commended PM Modi for his silent but effective work, citing initiatives like Operation Sindoor and efforts to empower women.
Dr. Saha also highlighted the progress made in Tripura, including achieving full literacy and substantial economic growth. He mentioned that the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of Tripura is the second highest in the North East after Assam, and per capita income has seen a significant increase, trailing only behind Sikkim.
In conclusion, Dr. Saha reiterated the importance of a down-to-earth approach in politics, stating that it is crucial for leaders and parties to connect with the people they serve. By focusing on building strong relationships and understanding the needs of the citizens, politicians can earn the trust and support of the public.
