Minister Sushanta Chowdhury Leads Progress Evaluation of Tribal Welfare Initiative in Sepahijala District
Minister Sushanta Chowdhury recently presided over a high-level review meeting in Sepahijala district to assess the effectiveness of the Dharti Aaba–Janjatiya Gram Utkash Abhiyan (DA-JGUA) campaign, a government initiative aimed at uplifting the socio-economic status of tribal communities in the state.
The meeting, held at the Conference Hall of the District Magistrate’s Office, saw the participation of key stakeholders such as the District Magistrate, District Council Chairperson, local MLAs, public representatives, and senior administrative officials. Discussions during the session revolved around ways to enhance outreach efforts, address challenges faced at the grassroots level, and improve coordination among various government departments to ensure the successful implementation of the campaign.
Minister Chowdhury highlighted the government’s commitment to a comprehensive and inclusive approach to tribal development. He emphasized that the DA-JGUA campaign underscores the state’s dedication to upholding the fundamental rights, alleviating daily struggles, and promoting the economic empowerment of indigenous communities residing in remote areas.
Launched on June 15 and running until June 30, the campaign aims to establish a direct connection between the administration and tribal populations. Awareness camps are being organized in tribal-dominated villages to educate residents about government welfare schemes, entitlements, and rural development programs.
“This initiative plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between the administration and tribal communities. Through DA-JGUA, we are striving to bring essential information and resources directly to those who need them the most,” Minister Chowdhury stated.
The review concluded with a renewed commitment from officials and public representatives to ensure that the campaign achieves its full potential and delivers tangible benefits to the tribal communities of Tripura. The government remains dedicated to promoting the well-being and prosperity of tribal populations in the region.
