Members of the All Tripura Chess Association (ATCA) came together on July 20 to mark International Chess Day 2025 with a state-level FIDE Rating Blitz Chess Tournament and the official launch of the association’s website. The event, held at the Chess Hall of NSRCC in Agartala, aimed to celebrate the game of chess and provide a platform for players to showcase their skills.
The Tripura State Selection Blitz Tournament saw players from across the state compete in a fast-paced blitz format, offering a thrilling experience for participants and spectators alike. The tournament not only provided an opportunity for players to earn valuable FIDE rating points but also promoted chess as a competitive sport and educational tool.
Organized by ATCA, the event brought together players of various age groups and experience levels, allowing local talent to engage in high-level competition and gain critical tournament exposure. The association’s mission to promote chess in Tripura was further emphasized by the official launch of its website, www.tripurachess.org.
ATCA President Abhijit Moulick inaugurated the website, describing it as a digital milestone for the chess community in Tripura. He highlighted the website’s role in making information more accessible to players, coaches, and enthusiasts across the state, as well as its potential to modernize communication and connections within the chess community.
The website will serve as a comprehensive platform for tournament schedules, rating lists, training resources, and news related to chess activities in Tripura. With the successful conduct of the blitz tournament and the launch of the website, ATCA is paving the way for a vibrant and inclusive chess culture in the state.
The growing interest in chess among the youth and the broader community is evident through structured competitions and technology-driven initiatives by ATCA. The association remains committed to organizing more FIDE-rated events in the future, providing continued opportunities for emerging talent to flourish in the game of chess.
