A joint operation between the Assam Rifles and the Customs Department resulted in the interception of a significant narcotics shipment in Singhichhara, Agartala on October 5. The team, acting on intelligence inputs, stopped two trucks carrying cement that were found to be concealing 69.61 kg of Yaba tablets, with an estimated value of Rs 69.61 crore. Four individuals were apprehended in connection with the smuggling.
This successful operation comes on the heels of another drug seizure on September 29, 2025 in Mohanpur, Tripura. The analysis of that previous operation provided valuable information that helped authorities identify smuggling routes and networks, leading to the targeted interception in Singhichhara.
Officials have emphasized that these operations are part of ongoing efforts to dismantle organized drug networks in the region and strengthen initiatives towards creating a drug-free society. The cooperation between the Assam Rifles and the Customs Department highlights the commitment of law enforcement agencies to combat the illicit drug trade and protect communities from the harmful effects of narcotics.
