Agartala, Tripura: Ramakrishna Paramahamsa lived at Kashipur Udyanbati from December 11, 1885, until his Mahasamadhi on August 16, 1886. On January 1, 1886, standing under a mango tree in the monastery garden, he blessed his household disciples, urged them towards spiritual awakening, and revealed his divine nature. In remembrance of this sacred event, Kalpataru Utsav has been observed every year on January 1.
In Agartala, devotees of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa observe the Kalpataru Utsav across the city and the state every year with deep reverence. This year too, on January 1, the festival was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm.
Special worship was organised in the Nagerjala area under the initiative of the City South Area Puja Committee. The Kalpataru Utsav is being observed as a three-day programme. The celebrations began yesterday, with special puja rituals continuing today. On the final day, a Pathachakra (spiritual discourse session) will be held.
Throughout the day, devotees participated in prayers and rituals, and prasad was distributed among them after the completion of the puja. A festive and spiritually uplifting atmosphere prevailed among the devotees, reflecting their deep faith and devotion to the teachings and legacy of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa.
