AGARTALA: Combining their professional commitment to health with a spirit of social responsibility, the All Tripura Chemists and Druggists Association (ATCDA) organized a massive Mega Blood Donation Camp at the Bodhjung Higher Secondary School today. The event, held on a Saturday, saw a significant turnout from members of the pharmaceutical fraternity and local residents, all aiming to replenish the state’s blood banks during the peak summer months.
The camp was graced by a diverse group of dignitaries, including spiritual leaders, political figures, and representatives from national pharmacy bodies.
A Convergence of Faith and Service
The inaugural session began with a spiritual address by Amritananda Maharaj of the Dhaleshwar Ramakrishna Mission, who emphasized that service to the suffering is the highest form of worship.

The leadership of the ATCDA, including President Samar Kumar Bhowmik and General Secretary Biswajit Saha, spearheaded the organizational efforts, ensuring that the camp followed all necessary medical protocols.

Speaking at the event, MLA Abhishek Deb Roy lauded the ATCDA for looking beyond their business interests.
”Chemists and druggists are often the first point of contact for a patient. Today, by donating blood, the members of this association have proven that they are dedicated to saving lives both inside and outside their pharmacies. This initiative at Bodhjung School sets a powerful example for other professional bodies in Tripura,” the MLA stated.
Replenishing the Lifeline
The Deputy Drug Controller of Tripura, who was also present, noted that such organized camps by professional associations are crucial for maintaining a steady supply for emergency surgeries and thalassemia patients in Agartala’s referral hospitals.
