Advocate Debdas Bokshi on Wednesday strongly asserted the supremacy of law after the Dharamnagar CJM Court rejected the bail pleas of the accused for the ninth consecutive time in the sensational Dharamnagar delivery boy death case.During the hearing, five prime accused, who were directly arrested in connection with the incident, once again moved the court seeking bail. However, considering the seriousness and sensitive nature of the case, the court dismissed the applications, maintaining its firm stand.Speaking to the media after the hearing, senior advocate Debdas Boxi stated that the defence had adopted several legal strategies in an attempt to weaken the case. “The law never bows before pressure or influence. Today’s order is clear proof that truth and justice prevail,” he said.He further informed that the court rejected a total of three bail petitions filed by the defence on the same day. Expressing confidence in the judicial process, Boxi said that based on the ongoing investigation and available evidence, the guilty would be awarded exemplary punishment as per the law.The court has fixed February 17 as the next date for the hearing. The death of delivery boy Prasenjit Sarkar had earlier triggered widespread outrage across the state, with the victim’s family alleging that he was deliberately pushed towards death as part of a planned conspiracy.
