AGARTALA | June 13, 2026: In a major breakthrough in the sensational daylight abduction case that shook the heart of the capital city, the West Agartala Police Station has successfully arrested the alleged mastermind behind the crime.
Addressing media persons at a press conference on Saturday, Sadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Debaprasad Roy officially confirmed the high-profile arrest. He stated that the prime conspirator was apprehended following a meticulous, tech-driven, and sustained investigation. With this latest arrest, the total number of individuals detained in connection with the daring abduction has now risen to five.
Meticulous Probe Leads to Prime Conspirator’s Apprehension
The kidnapping, which took place in the busy, high-security Office Lane area, had triggered sharp panic and raised serious questions regarding public safety in commercial zones. Responding to the gravity of the crime, specialized teams from the West Agartala Police Station launched immediate tracking operations, gathering crucial electronic footprints, manual inputs, and CCTV data.
Following the initial arrest of four suspects earlier this week—who were produced before a local court for police custody—the interrogation leads directly pointed toward the prime planner who orchestrated the entire abduction plot from behind the scenes.
”Our officers have been working relentlessly to trace the backward and forward linkages of the daylight abduction at Office Lane. Through sustained investigation and substantial evidence collection, we have successfully rounded up the main mastermind behind the entire conspiracy. This arrest marks a significant step toward uncovering the exact motive and planning behind the crime,” Sadar SDPO Debaprasad Roy stated during the media briefing.
More Detentions Expected as Investigation Intensifies
The SDPO further informed that the police department is aggressively following up on fresh leads extracted during preliminary interrogations of the mastermind. The tracking wings are conducting localized raids to identify and trace any other individuals who may have provided logistical support or acted as facilitators for the crime.
