AGARTALA | June 14, 2026: To address growing concerns regarding social security, fundamental rights, and the welfare of marginalized communities in the state, the Tripura unit of the Bhim Army Bharat Ekta Mission organized a press conference at the Agartala Press Club today.
The media briefing was led by a joint panel of key organizational leaders and indigenous social reformers, including Bhim Army State President Sunil Kumar Das, General Secretary Raju Paul, and the President of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC/ADC) community front, Babul Chandra Jamatia.
Advocating for Social Equality and Legal Protections
During the press conference, the leadership highlighted several key issues affecting the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and minority populations across Tripura. The organization expressed deep concern over recent instances of social discrimination and stressed the need for strict enforcement of constitutional safeguards.
The core demands laid out by the leadership during the press interaction included:
- Fast-Tracking Justice: Speeding up investigations into crimes against marginalized communities and ensuring immediate legal action against perpetrators.
- Protection of Rights: Guaranteeing the uncompromised implementation of reservation policies and land rights for indigenous and backward classes.
- Strengthening Unity: Fostering deeper socio-political coordination between SC and ST organizations to unitedly fight for constitutional justice.
