AGARTALA | June 16, 2026: In a major move to review the state’s dairy infrastructure and boost rural cooperative livelihoods, the Hon’ble Governor of Tripura, Shri Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, is scheduled to undertake an official administrative visit to the Gomati Milk Co-operative Union Limited plant today.
Located in the Indranagar industrial belt of the capital city, the Gomati Milk Co-operative Union stands as the premier institutional dairy processing unit in the state, catering to thousands of local dairy farmers and consumers daily.
High-Profile Inspection Aimed at Strengthening Cooperative Sector
During the visit scheduled for Tuesday, the Governor will directly inspect the automated milk processing units, pasteurization systems, and quality control laboratories at the Indranagar plant. Senior administrative officials from the Animal Resources Development Department (ARDD) and executive board members of the cooperative union will accompany the Governor to provide detailed operational briefings.
The visit is expected to focus heavily on modernizing procurement channels, expanding storage capacities, and introducing tech-driven solutions to optimize the distribution of dairy products across all eight districts of Tripura.
”The Gomati Milk Co-operative Union plays a crucial role in empowering our rural economy and ensuring nutritional security. The visit of the Hon’ble Governor underscores the high administrative priority being given to upgrading our indigenous cooperative models and enhancing the income avenues of our local livestock farmers,” a senior departmental official noted ahead of the visit.
Following the physical inspection of the facility, Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu is slated to chair a high-level review meeting with management leaders to discuss current production benchmarks, pending infrastructure upgrades, and the strategic expansion roadmap of the cooperative sector in the state.
