Addressing the media persons, the Chief Spokesperson of the Tripura Pradesh Congress, Prabir Chakraborty, provided a detailed blueprint of the party’s upcoming democratic movements.
Mass Mobilization Set for June 24
The key highlight of the press conference was the formal announcement of a large-scale protest rally scheduled for June 24, 2026. The Congress leadership stated that party workers, supporters, and frontline frontal organizations from all districts will march on the streets of Agartala to register their protest against systemic governance failures, rising unemployment, and the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

”The Tripura Pradesh Congress is launching a comprehensive statewide agitation to champion the rights of the common people. On June 24, the streets of Agartala will witness a historic gathering of citizens who are frustrated with the current administration’s empty promises. From economic distress to the collapse of public safety, we will raise every critical issue and hold the authorities accountable,” TPCC Chief Spokesperson Prabir Chakraborty asserted during the media briefing.
Core Charter of Demands Outlined at Congress Bhavan
During the session, the Pradesh Congress leadership listed the primary issues that will anchor their upcoming protest roadmap:
- Economic Relief & Jobs: Demanding a concrete roadmap from the state government to generate permanent employment opportunities for the educated youth of Tripura.
- Price Control: Urging immediate administrative intervention to curb the skyrocketing prices of essential commodities and food items in local markets.
- Democratic Accountability: Protesting against political intimidation and demanding the restoration of an impartial, transparent law enforcement mechanism across all subdivisions.
The party concluded the press meet by calling upon civil society members, youth forums, and ordinary citizens to join the June 24 rally in large numbers to safeguard democratic principles in the state.
