AGARTALA | June 26, 2026: To bridge the gap between academic theory and practical industry standards, a three-day intensive media workshop was formally inaugurated at the Agartala Press Club auditorium. The high-profile educational initiative is being jointly organized by the Neelkantha Society Cultural Organisation and the prestigious Kolkata Film and Television Institute (KFTI).
The inaugural ceremony was attended by a distinguished panel of media veterans, including senior journalist Shri Sanit Debroy, alongside executive core members and directors of the organizing institutions.
Empowering Regional Youth with Hands-On Media Training
The collaborative workshop is designed to provide comprehensive, industry-grade training to aspiring filmmakers, media students, and cultural workers from across the state. Over the course of three days, seasoned faculty members and industry experts from Kolkata will conduct technical sessions covering a wide array of subjects, including:
- Cinematography & Directorial Frameworks: Exploring the mechanics of visual storytelling, camera operations, and scene construction.
- Television Production: Understanding live-broadcasting logistics, studio management, and multi-camera setups.
- Contemporary Digital Journalism: Navigating the evolving dynamics of public relations, news anchoring, and mass communication in the digital era.
The interactive modules aim to equip participants with real-world insights, enabling them to pursue professional avenues in national media networks.
Organizers Focus on Practical Skill Acquisition
Addressing the inaugural batch of students, senior journalist Sanit Debroy emphasized that regional talent often lacks exposure to high-end technical infrastructure, a gap this workshop directly addresses.
”Tripura possesses immense creative potential, but our youth need structured institutional training to compete at a national level. This joint venture between Neelkantha Society and Kolkata Film and Television Institute provides a vital launchpad. By interacting with working professionals, our students and cultural activists will gain authentic, hands-on experience that goes beyond textbooks,” journalist Sanit Debroy shared during his address.
The organizers concluded the opening session by stating that outstanding participants from this three-day cohort will be flagged for advanced mentorship profiles and industrial internship layouts in Kolkata’s premier production houses.
