AGARTALA | June 22, 2026: In a bid to accelerate rural economy components and streamline livestock welfare schemes, the Animal Resource Development Department (ARDD) of Tripura conducted its first high-level state-level review meeting for the financial year 2026–27 today. The critical meeting was held at the ARDD headquarters conference hall located in the Gorkhabasti area of Agartala.
The comprehensive session was chaired by the Honorable Minister for Animal Resource Development, Shri Sudhangshu Das.
Assessing Budgetary Allocations and Scheme Timelines
The administrative evaluation was attended by senior departmental policymakers, including ARDD Secretary Deepa D. Nair and Director Neeraj Kumar Chanchal, alongside district officers and veterinary experts.
Addressing media personnel after the conclusion of the session, Minister Sudhangshu Das noted that the key focus of the meeting was to inspect the current expenditure efficiency of the funds allocated to the department in the FY 2026–27 state budget. The panel thoroughly reviewed the progress and grassroots implementation metrics of various ongoing state and central flagship beneficiary programs.
”To ensure maximum operational speed and the total execution of our developmental projects, we have institutionalized a system of hosting these comprehensive state-level reviews twice a year. Today, we meticulously analyzed our budgetary performance and evaluated the milestones achieved so far. Precise instructions have been issued to all sub-divisional heads to clear bureaucratic bottlenecks and complete both central and state-sponsored livestock schemes well within their designated timelines,” ARDD Minister Sudhangshu Das stated during his media interaction.
Key Directives Standardized for Field Operations
The departmental review board finalized a series of operational guidelines to improve service delivery for dairy farmers and livestock rearers across the state:
- Time-Bound Project Completion: Setting strict deadlines for the infrastructure upgrades of rural veterinary hospitals and sub-centers.
- Central-State Scheme Convergence: Optimizing data tracking for schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) components linked to livestock and integrated dairy entrepreneurship allocations.
- Grassroots Monitoring: Mandating monthly field audit reports from district directors to evaluate vaccination coverage, fodder distribution quality, and artificial insemination success rates.
The department concluded the session by charting an immediate roadmap to enhance training camps for rural youth interested in establishing commercial poultry, piggery, and dairy farming ventures.
