AGARTALA | June 23, 2026: In line with the state government’s ongoing “Nasha Mukt Tripura” (Drug-Free Tripura) campaign, a massive student-led anti-drug awareness rally was successfully organized today by the authorities of Bodhjung Boys’ Higher Secondary School. The initiative aimed to sensitize schoolgoers and the public to the devastating impacts of substance abuse and the importance of choosing a healthy life path.
The vibrant promotional march was flagged off from the historic Bodhjung Boys’ School campus premises early in the morning.
Students March to Drive Social Change
Carrying colorful placards, banners, and shouting impactful anti-addiction slogans, hundreds of students, alongside senior teachers, physical instructors, and institutional staff, participated actively in the wellness drive.
The rally dynamically traversed the primary road networks and bustling commercial intersections of Agartala, drawing widespread praise from local shopkeepers and commuters. The procession focused heavily on educating young peers to resist peer pressure and immediately report illicit drug peddling near academic zones.
After completing a comprehensive circuit through the heart of the city, the rally safely marched back and concluded within the school’s central compound.
Institutional Pledge and Community Vow
Following the conclusion of the march, the school administration convened a specialized interactive session where educators highlighted the psychological and physical hazards associated with synthetic drugs and tobacco products.
The central objectives reinforced during the school-level campaign included:
- Peer-to-Peer Vigilance: Encouraging senior students to act as positive mentors and identify early signs of behavioral isolation or addiction traits within classrooms.
- Alternative Engagement: Promoting active participation in sports, creative writing, and NCC/NSS modules to channel youth energy into constructive nation-building.
- Parent-Teacher Convergence: Standardizing regular counseling windows to help parents detect external stress factors affecting their children.
The awareness program wrapped up with a collective solemn pledge administered to all attending students to maintain an absolute zero-tolerance stance against narcotics and work toward building a drug-free academic environment.
