Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, IPS, the Special Director General (SDG) of the BSF Eastern Command, made a three-day visit to Tripura to assess the security situation along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
Upon his arrival at the Agartala airport, the SDG was warmly welcomed by the Inspector General of BSF Tripura Frontier and later honored with a Guard of Honour at the BSF Headquarters. During his visit, Aggarwal received briefings on operational readiness and key strategic issues related to border management in the state.
Aggarwal held meetings with Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Director General of Police Anurag (IPS), and Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha (IAS) to discuss the current security scenario, inter-agency coordination, and challenges in border management.
In order to get a firsthand look at the ground situation, the SDG will be touring various forward areas along the international border to interact with field commanders and troops. The primary objectives of his visit include enhancing operational efficiency, reviewing anti-smuggling measures, and boosting the morale of BSF personnel stationed in sensitive border areas.
Overall, Aggarwal’s visit is aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the border region and strengthening the BSF’s presence in Tripura.
