AGARTALA: In a major push toward tech-driven community policing and direct public grievance redressal, Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha virtually launched “YODDHA”—an innovative citizen engagement portal designed to combat deep-seated social issues. The Chief Minister formally launched the platform from the central Conference Hall of TIFT at SP Mukherjee Lane in Agartala.
Following the portal’s launch, the Chief Minister immediately chaired a virtual session of his signature public outreach program, “Mukhyamantri Samipeshu”, directly connecting with and addressing the grievances of residents in North Tripura.
What is the ‘YODDHA’ Platform?
Conceived and developed under the leadership of North Tripura District Magistrate Chandni Chandran, IAS, the YODDHA platform (hosted securely by the National Informatics Centre after a strict IT security audit) is designed as a direct shield for whistleblowers.
The platform’s primary features include:
- Complete Anonymity: Citizens can securely report sensitive social evils—including drug abuse, child marriage, domestic violence, child labor, and the exploitation of women—without fear of identity exposure or retaliation.
- Confidential Support for Victims: Individuals battling substance abuse can privately connect with counseling and rehabilitation networks via the portal.
- Volunteer Integration: Civic-minded citizens can register to participate in community welfare and blood donation camps, which will be regularly listed on the website.
Direct Grievance Resolution via ‘Mukhyamantri Samipeshu’
Immediately after launching the portal, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha transitioned to the virtual Mukhyamantri Samipeshu interactive session, listening to public issues originating from the remote Kanchanpur Sub-Division of North Tripura.
During the session, the Chief Minister heard individual appeals concerning medical assistance, land-related disputes, and localized infrastructure challenges. He issued prompt on-the-spot instructions to the attending district administration officials to expedite relief measures.
”Platforms like ‘YODDHA’ and virtual public grievance redressal formats are bridging the physical distance between Agartala and the state’s remote corners. By utilizing secure technology, we are giving ordinary citizens a voice to report crimes without fear, while ensuring my office remains directly accessible to resolve ground-level public concerns,” stated Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha.
The virtual launch was attended by senior administrative officers, state IT experts, and top police brass at the TIFT conference room, while North Tripura DM Chandni Chandran, IAS, Kanchanpur SDM Ashish Biswas, and regional block officials joined the virtual program from North Tripura.
