AGARTALA | July 2, 2026: In a major push toward rural economic empowerment and sustainable livelihood generation, a grand district-level convention and formal launching ceremony of the “Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (Gramin)” (VB-G-RAM-G) was organized today at the Nazrul Kalakshetra auditorium in Agartala.
The high-profile state initiative was officially inaugurated by the Minister for Social Welfare and Social Education, Shri Tinku Roy, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Expanding the Network of Rural Micro-Enterprises
The VB-G-RAM-G program is strategically designed to streamline central and state rural employment guarantees while creating robust backward-and-forward linkages for village artisans, women-led Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and agricultural laborers. The district convention saw the participation of hundreds of village level coordinators, community leaders, and development officers from across the region.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Tinku Roy emphasized that the ultimate benchmark of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India) lies in the economic self-reliance of its rural interior blocks.
”Our focus through the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission is to shift our rural workforce from basic daily wage labor to sustainable entrepreneurship. This mission ensures that financial aid, advanced skill-mapping, and market linkages reach our rural youths directly without institutional leakage. The Department of Social Welfare is working in close tandem with rural development frameworks to ensure that our mothers and sisters in Self-Help Groups become the prime drivers of Tripura’s rural economy,” Minister Tinku Roy stated during his inaugural address.
Core Delivery Pipelines Outlined at the Convention
During the administrative rollout, department heads and dignitaries distributed structural asset-kits, loan sanction documents, and training completion certificates to several rural beneficiary groups. The primary focus areas mapped out for the district execution include:
- Targeted Skill Integration: Setting up specialized micro-skill development clusters across rural blocks to train youths in modern food processing, handloom variations, and climate-resilient farming techniques.
- Direct Financial Inclusion: Fast-tracking direct-benefit transfers (DBT) and credit access channels to eliminate middleman networks in rural marketing pipelines.
- Rural Women Empowerment: Prioritizing resources and marketing platforms for products manufactured by women’s cooperatives under the Aajeevika mission framework.
Senior administrative officials, institutional experts, and social workers shared the stage, concluding the convention with a roadmap session aimed at ensuring 100% saturation of livelihood insurance schemes across the district’s rural blocks.
