AGARTALA: In a major push to empower local youth and foster grassroots entrepreneurship, the Tripura Forest Department organized a mega distribution program today at the Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan in Agartala.
During the event, Self-Help Group (SHG) seed money, Common Interest Group (CIG)/Joint Liability Group (JLG) loans, and newly processed driving licenses were distributed to selected young beneficiaries.
The program was inaugurated by State Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma, who graced the occasion as the chief guest. Several high-ranking officials of the Forest Department and state administration were also present at the ceremony.
Speaking at the event, Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma highlighted the government’s commitment to creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for the state’s youth. He emphasized that providing financial support through seed money and loans, alongside vocational tools like driving licenses, will significantly boost self-reliance and local economic growth, particularly in peripheral and forest-fringe areas.
The beneficiaries expressed deep gratitude for the timely assistance, noting that the financial aid and skill credentials would help them secure long-term employment and establish stable micro-businesses.
