In a major initiative to reshape the future of higher education in the state, an interactive seminar titled “Higher Education Dialogue” was held today at the State Guest House, Sonartori. Organized under the leadership of Higher Education Minister Kishor Barman, the event marked a radical departure from traditional governance by creating a direct, open-minded platform where student representatives led the discourse. Higher Education Director Animesh Debbarma was also present at the session.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Kishor Barman highlighted the historic nature of the meeting, emphasizing that the government is shifting from a top-down approach to an open discussion model. “Today, we are witnessing history in the making. - Employability & Skill Education: Strategies to integrate job-oriented courses and foster employment opportunities for graduating students.
- Targeting 2030 Vision: Developing actionable plans for the next five years to position Tripura as a prominent education hub.
- Boosting Gross Enrollment: Aiming for a 50% increase in higher education enrollment across the state.
- Nationalistic Campus Culture: Cultivating patriotic values, national character, and positive learning environments inside college campuses.
The Minister reaffirmed that constructive student feedback will directly influence policy formation and implementation, helping transform educational institutions from simple degree-granting centers into vital pillars of nation-building.
