Tripura24 Desk, Agartala:
High drama unfolded in the state capital today as thousands of small cargo vehicle drivers under the banner of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) affiliated Tripura Khudro Pannyabahi Jan Chalak Sangh organized a massive Secretariat (Mahakaran) March. Estimates suggest nearly 2,000 to 3,000 drivers gathered to push forward their pressing demands, creating significant momentum across Agartala.
The rally was halted near the Circuit House area, where heavy police forces barricaded the route and prevented the massive procession from advancing directly to the Secretariat. Following the stoppage, a 5-member representative delegation was permitted to meet directly with Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury inside the Secretariat. The delegation submitted a formal charter of demands and discussed key operational challenges faced by cargo drivers across the state.
