AGARTALA | AUGUST 27, 2026: Commemorating the 118th birth anniversary of the architect of modern Tripura, Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur, a 5-day prize money football tournament has officially kicked off at the historic Swami Vivekananda Maidan (Astabal) in Agartala.
Organized under the initiative of the Gomati Trust, the grand sporting event features 24 participating teams from across the state competing for top honours.
Tournament Structure & Prize Money Details
- Participating Teams: A total of 24 football teams are competing in a knockout format over five days.
- Champion’s Purse: The winning team will be awarded the championship trophy along with a cash prize of ₹1,000,000 (₹1 Lakh).
- Runner-Up Prize: The runner-up team will receive a trophy alongside a cash prize of ₹70,000.
- Individual Match Awards: To encourage exceptional individual talent, the Player of the Match in every fixture will receive a cash reward of ₹2,500.
- Grand Finale Schedule: The tournament will conclude with the final match scheduled for August 31, 2026.
