AGARTALA | AUGUST 27, 2026: Protesting against soaring commodity prices, irregular public distribution systems, and rising unemployment, the Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist) – SUCI(C) organized a spirited protest rally through the main thoroughfares of Agartala.
Hundreds of party activists, workers, and supporters joined the demonstration, voicing sharp criticism against central and state governance policies and placing forward a comprehensive 12-point charter of demands.

- Control Unchecked Inflation: The party strongly condemned the sky-rocketing prices of daily essentials, edible oil, pulses, and fuel, demanding immediate government intervention to stabilize market prices.
- Regular & Quality Ration Supplies: The agitators called for an overhaul of the Public Distribution System (PDS), demanding regular and unhindered monthly supplies of subsidized rice, sugar, kerosene, and other essential commodities to all ration card holders.
- Filling All Vacant Government Posts: Highlighting the severe employment crisis, SUCI(C) demanded immediate recruitment drives to fill all long-standing vacant posts across government departments, schools, and hospitals in Tripura.
- Improvement of Healthcare & Education: The memorandum stressed the urgent need to upgrade infrastructure, eliminate medicine shortages in public hospitals, and improve the standard of teaching and facilities in government educational institutions.
