The 2nd edition of the Maharaja Kirit Bikram Manikya Scholarship Programme (MKBMSP) has been officially launched in Tripura, aiming to support civil service aspirants in the region. This initiative, named after Maharaja Kirit Bikram Manikya, father of Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, is designed to empower talented youth who are preparing for the prestigious UPSC and TPSC examinations.
The scholarship programme will provide selected candidates with full funding for a 12-month course at the Oriental IAS Academy in Agartala. This opportunity will give aspiring officers access to high-quality coaching and resources that are often financially out of reach for many individuals.
Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, the Founder of the Tipra Motha Party and a royal scion of the Manikya dynasty, emphasized the importance of nurturing Tripura’s youth for future leadership roles. He stated, “I firmly believe that in order to transform Tripura, we need dedicated and capable young officers. This scholarship could be your chance to achieve that goal.”
This initiative reflects a larger effort to encourage more young people from Tripura to pursue careers in public service, thereby strengthening the state’s representation in the nation’s administrative framework. By providing financial support and access to quality coaching, the MKBMSP aims to cultivate a new generation of competent and committed leaders who will contribute to the growth and development of Tripura.
