AGARTALA | June 25, 2026: In line with the city’s ongoing modernization blueprint, the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) has laid out an ambitious roadmap to revamp Ward No. 37 into a premier eco-friendly, aesthetic, and tourism-driven locality. The announcement came during an extensive, high-stakes ground inspection of the ward led by the Honorable Mayor of AMC, Shri Dipak Majumder.
The joint delegation reviewed ongoing civic works, drainage networks, and identified specific open spaces to be redeveloped into green public zones and modern recreational arenas.
Modern Recreational Facilities and Green Spaces for Citizens
The joint inspection team emphasized that the planned transformation will drastically elevate the quality of life for the ward’s residents. By integrating sustainable ecological models with urban landscaping, the administration intends to build comprehensive social infrastructure that accommodates both physical wellness and family recreation.
The delegation interacted with local resident panels to gather direct feedback on localized demands, water logging points, and community park layouts.
”Our objective is to ensure balanced infrastructural growth across all extended corners of the capital city. Ward No. 37 holds immense potential for localized tourism and green aesthetic updates. We are working on a dedicated blueprint to transform this sector into an eco-friendly and tourist-friendly destination. This will not only preserve our local environment but will also offer modern social infrastructure and fresh entertainment hubs for our city dwellers to enjoy with their families,” Mayor Dipak Majumder stated during his interaction with reporters.
High-Profile Delegation Assesses Grassroots Grievances
The structural inspection was conducted with an eye on micro-level development, ensuring coordinated execution between different state wings:
- Joint Administrative Review: Alongside Mayor Dipak Majumder, the local Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA), Ward No. 37 Corporator Shri Bapi Das, and senior engineering cells of the municipal corporation actively mapped out the project boundaries.
- Eco-Tourism Infrastructure: Plans are being finalized to construct paved walking tracks, community open-air gyms, and well-lit leisure parks utilizing solar power frameworks.
- Upgrading Civic Amenities: The Mayor directed accompanying PWD and AMC supervisors to clear choked master drains and repair connection lanes ahead of heavy monsoon spells to ensure a clean neighborhood environment.
The corporate panel concluded the visit by affirming that budgeting configurations for the primary phases of the aesthetic overhaul have been approved, and field execution will begin in a phased, time-bound format.
