AGARTALA | July 3, 2026: Showing strong community support, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing the Barjala constituency, Shri Sudip Sarkar, stepped forward today to support a financially struggling family managing a severe medical crisis. The lawmaker visited the residence of a young boy in need of urgent clinical care to provide direct financial relief.
The patient, identified as Roudrik Sarkar, is the son of Rajib Sarkar, a resident of the Ulanga Nagar Baishya Para pocket under the Barjala assembly segment.
Doorstep Outreach to Provide Emergency Relief
Upon receiving updates about Roudrik’s deteriorating health and his family’s inability to afford high medical costs, MLA Sudip Sarkar, accompanied by a delegation of prominent local social workers and community elders, visited the family’s home in Baishya Para.
During the visit, the MLA spoke with the family members, reviewed the medical prescriptions, and handed over an initial cash assistance package to Rajib Sarkar to help cover immediate diagnostic and treatment expenses.
”Our priority is to ensure that no child in our constituency is deprived of essential medical treatment due to financial constraints. The family of young Roudrik Sarkar is going through an incredibly challenging phase, and it is our collective responsibility to stand by them. This initial financial assistance is meant to ensure his treatment continues without any delay. We have also assured the family that we will coordinate with senior health department officials to arrange further institutional medical support at the state level,” MLA Sudip Sarkar stated during his visit.
Assuring Continued Institutional Support
The local delegation and neighbors expressed gratitude for the timely intervention, noting that the representative’s direct involvement has provided immense mental relief to the family. MLA Sudip Sarkar directed local youth volunteers to closely monitor Roudrik’s recovery and assist the family with any heavy paperwork required to access state-sponsored healthcare benefits or emergency relief funds.
