AGARTALA | AUGUST 28, 2026: In a major anti-theft operation, personnel from the New Capital Complex (NCC) Police Station dismantled an active theft syndicate operating across the capital’s northern commercial and office hubs. Police arrested two accused individuals involved in burglaries at Lichu Bagan and the nearby NGC Complex premises, successfully recovering stolen property along with vehicles utilized during the commission of the crimes.
Briefing media representatives at the police station, NCC Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Paritosh Das detailed the operational tracking, arrests, and property seizures made by the investigating team.
Operational Breakdown & Seizures
- Targeted Operations: Following recent complaints of break-ins and property thefts at commercial setups in Lichu Bagan and office spaces within the NGC Complex area, NCC Police launched an intensive investigation supported by technical surveillance and secret intelligence inputs.
- Arrest of Key Suspects: Police raided targeted hideouts in the sub-division, apprehending two habitual thieves who confessed to orchestrating the burglaries.
- Recovered Goods & Getaway Vehicles: During the raid and subsequent searches, police seized:
- Stolen office equipment and commercial goods recovered from the suspects’ custody.
- 1 Four-Wheeler (Car) utilized for transporting stolen goods.
