AGARTALA | June 13, 2026: To mark the World Day Against Child Labour, a specialized social welfare program was organized at a private hotel in the capital city on Friday.
The initiative was spearheaded by ‘REVA’—a prominent local non-governmental social organization—in joint collaboration with the Nishad Reva School of Art & Music and the Tripura Labour Commission. The main objective of the event was to spread grassroots awareness regarding children’s right to education and the eradication of child labor across the state.
Engaging Children Through Art and Education
As part of the day-long awareness campaign, a sit-and-draw art competition was organized for local students. The young participants beautifully used their paintbrushes to depict the importance of a happy childhood, the evils of forced manual labor, and the power of classroom education.
Following the art competition, senior officials and organizers held a vital seminar focusing on child rights and constitutional protections.
”Every single child belongs in a classroom, not a workplace. Through these interactive art competitions and panel discussions, our core focus is to educate both parents and employers about the strict legal consequences of child labor. We are working hand-in-hand with the Tripura Labour Commission to build a completely child-labor-free society where every minor gets access to proper nutrition and primary schooling,” stated the core members of the REVA social organization during the seminar.
The dignitaries present at the function appreciated the creative entries of the students and distributed prizes and educational kits among the winners, urging the citizens of Agartala to actively report any instances of underage exploitation to the state authorities.
