AGARTALA | July 9, 2026: Carrying forward the ideological legacy of one of modern India’s greatest nationalist icons, the massive “Prabhat Pheri” (morning procession) campaign continues to sweep through the 18-Suryamaninagar assembly constituency. Organized under the direct supervision of the Deputy Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly and local MLA, Shri Ramprasad Paul, the consecutive mass-contact program—which commenced on June 23 to mark the death anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee—entered its final phase today with a grand colorful rally in the Kathaltali sector.
The extensive outreach campaign is scheduled to officially culminate across the southern outskirts of the capital city tomorrow, July 10, 2026.
Hundreds March in Kathaltali to Echo Ideals of National Integration
Early Thursday morning, the streets of Kathaltali were filled with patriotic songs and slogans as a diverse crowd of nearly 400 to 500 local residents, including youth volunteers, women’s fronts, and veteran social workers, joined the morning procession. Draped in traditional attire and holding national flags alongside portraits of Dr. Mookerjee, the massive assembly traversed through vital commercial junctions and village residential lanes before smoothly converging at the regional Community Hall complex.
Following the peaceful march, a commemorative seminar was hosted inside the community center to evaluate Dr. Mookerjee’s contributions to the integration of the Indian Union. To actively engage the younger generation, organizers held an interactive spot-quiz competition based entirely on the life, academic achievements, and political struggles of the nationalist leader. Deputy Speaker Ramprasad Paul personally distributed cash awards of ₹500 to each of the quiz winners on stage.
”Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee was the epitome of courage, profound scholarship, and uncompromising patriotism. History shows that he became a victim of deep-seated political conspiracies by contemporary regimes simply because he refused to compromise on India’s territorial sovereignty. He gave his life to establish the core principle of ‘Ek Desh, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan’ (One Nation, One Flag, One Constitution). Today, under the decisive, visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, that foundational dream has been completely realized. This extended Prabhat Pheri is not a mere ritual; it is a movement to take his message of absolute national integration to every single household in Suryamaninagar,” Deputy Speaker and local MLA Ramprasad Paul stated during his address.
Fortifying Local Organizational Grid Before Final Culmination
According to block coordinators, the continuous 18-day campaign has successfully mobilized thousands of rural families across the constituency’s border tracts. By utilizing morning cultural marches coupled with localized youth interactions and community seminars, the local committee has significantly strengthened its grassroots connection.
The organizing panel confirmed that the final mega-rally of the campaign will take place tomorrow afternoon, featuring central state leaders who will lay the roadmap for upcoming socio-welfare distributions across the sub-division.
