
AGARTALA: In a proactive move to combat potential monsoon challenges, Tripura Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha chaired a crucial high-level review meeting on Saturday. The strategic session, aimed at strengthening the state’s preparedness against waterlogging and flood situations, was held at the conference hall of the Tripura Institute of Technology (TIFT).
The high-profile meeting focused extensively on emergency preparedness, particularly within the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) limits and other vulnerable low-lying areas across the state.
During the review, CM Manik Saha emphasized the absolute necessity of seamless coordination among various government departments. He directed officials to ensure that early warning systems remain fully operational and that rapid response teams are ready to deploy at a moment’s notice to handle any emergency.
”Ensuring the safety, security, and protection of our citizens’ lives and property during the monsoon season is the topmost priority of our government,” Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha stated during the conference.
The Chief Minister strictly instructed the administration and all disaster management agencies to maintain round-the-clock alertness. He ordered immediate action plans for urban de-watering to tackle waterlogging, well-equipped rescue operations, and the seamless setup of relief camps with necessary amenities if the situation demands.
Senior administrative officials, disaster management experts, and representatives from civic bodies attended the meeting, finalizing a robust blueprint to safeguard Tripura this monsoon.
