Tripura government has announced that staff at Agartala Medical College and GB Pant Hospital will not receive their salaries without verified attendance. This decision comes in response to allegations of irregular attendance by doctors and other employees at the medical college and hospital.
According to the state government, salaries for faculty members, medical officers, officials, and other employees will only be released after their attendance is verified through both biometric and manual systems. The government has directed all concerned departments to submit verified attendance reports by the 15th of every month to the Medical Superintendent and Head of Department at AGMC & GBPH.
In cases where biometric devices are not functioning properly, attendance must be recorded manually on physical registers until the devices are restored. This new policy also extends to the monthly stipends of Post Graduate Trainees, Junior Residents, and Intern doctors at AGMC & GB Pant Hospital.
Furthermore, the government has stated that similar measures will be implemented at all District Hospitals, Primary Health Cares, and Community Health Cares across the state. This move is aimed at ensuring accountability and transparency in the attendance and presence of medical staff to provide better healthcare services to the people of Tripura.
