Tripura’s Gomati district has been recognized on a national level for its excellent public administration, receiving the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration for the year 2024. The district was honored for its ‘Holistic Development of Districts’, showcasing innovation and impactful governance.
Presented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Civil Services Day celebration in New Delhi on April 21, the award was received by District Magistrate Tarit Kanti Chakma. Tripura Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy praised the achievement as a “glorious milestone” and congratulated the DM and the entire district administration for their hard work and dedication.
Minister Roy highlighted the innovative initiatives, effective public service delivery, and developmental activities undertaken by the Gomati district administration, which led to this recognition among the top five districts in the country. Chief Minister Manik Saha also expressed pride in the achievement, as Ganganagar, an aspirational block in Tripura’s Dhalai district, was also honored with the PM Excellence Award 2024.
The Chief Minister congratulated the people of Ganganagar block and Saju Wahid A., DM & Collector of Dhalai district, for their commitment to excellence. He emphasized that these awards showcase the state government’s dedication to progress and the district’s commitment to achieving excellence in public administration and governance.
