Tripura and Mizoram have once again come together to support each other during the festive season, with Tripura set to provide 40 MW of electricity to Mizoram during Christmas. This follows an agreement between the two states, with Mizoram having previously supplied the same amount of power to Tripura during Durga Puja earlier this year.
According to TSECL Managing Director Biswajit Bose, Tripura had aimed to supply 363 MW during Durga Puja to meet peak demand. However, the demand ranged from 290 MW to 320 MW on most days, except on Maha Ashtami when it peaked at 360 MW. Despite this, there were no power shortages or outages during the festival period, as all necessary measures were taken to ensure uninterrupted supply.
In return for the power supply during Durga Puja, Mizoram will now receive 40 MW of electricity from Tripura throughout December and January for the Christmas season. This ongoing tradition of power exchange between the two neighbouring states highlights their commitment to supporting each other and ensuring that residents have access to uninterrupted power supply during important festivities.
The arrangement between Tripura and Mizoram exemplifies the spirit of cooperation and mutual assistance among states in India, showcasing the importance of solidarity and collaboration in times of need. As preparations for Christmas begin, residents of Mizoram can rest assured that they will have a stable supply of electricity, thanks to the support from their neighbouring state of Tripura.
