AGARTALA: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tripura State Committee today celebrated India’s 77th Republic Day with great dignity and patriotic fervor at the state party headquarters in Agartala. The event saw the participation of the state’s top leadership, led by Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha and State BJP President Rajib Bhattacharjee.
Flag Hoisting and National Pride
The celebration commenced with the ceremonial unfurling of the National Tricolour at the party office. State President Rajib Bhattacharjee hoisted the flag in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, followed by a collective rendition of the National Anthem by party karyakartas and leaders.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha highlighted the significance of the Constitution in shaping a democratic India.
“Our Constitution is the foundation upon which the dreams of 140 crore Indians are built. Under the visionary leadership of PM Narendra Modi, we are moving toward a ‘Viksit Bharat’ where every citizen, from the cities to the remotest corners of Tripura, feels empowered and included,” the Chief Minister stated.
A Call for ‘Ek Tripura, Srestha Tripura’
The Chief Minister utilized the platform to emphasize the importance of unity. He noted that the state government is committed to the mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” ensuring that the benefits of democracy reach every household. He lauded the party workers for their tireless efforts in taking the government’s welfare schemes to the grassroots, which he credited for the state’s rapid progress in infrastructure and social security.
President Rajib Bhattacharjee’s Message
State BJP President Rajib Bhattacharjee congratulated the people of Tripura and called upon the youth to uphold the spirit of nationalism.
“Republic Day is a day of introspection and renewed commitment. Today, we pledge to work even harder to make Tripura a model state. The strength of our republic lies in our diversity and our shared goal of national development,” Bhattacharjee remarked.

The event was attended by several high-ranking party officials and legislators, including:
- Bipin Debbarma, State BJP General Secretary.
- Amitabh Bhattacharya, Ramnagar Mandal President.
- Senior Ministers, MLAs, and members of various Morchas (Youth, Women, and Janajati).
Following the ceremony at the party office, the leaders proceeded to the Assam Rifles Ground to join the official state-level Republic Day parade. The atmosphere at the BJP headquarters remained festive throughout the morning, with sweets distributed among workers and patriotic songs echoing through the venue, marking a successful start to the historic day.
