AGARTALA | June 17, 2026: Protesting against the alleged abusive language and physical assault by CRPF personnel Ram Kumar during recent demonstrations, a high-level delegation from the Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress visited the Tripura Human Rights Commission (THRC) office today to submit a formal deputation.
The protest program, which was originally organized to demand accountability regarding the NEET and CBSE examination paper leak scandals, took an ugly turn when Youth Congress workers were allegedly subjected to verbal abuse and physical aggression by paramilitary forces.
Formal Complaint Lodged with THRC
The delegation, comprising senior Youth Congress office-bearers, officially documented the incident, providing detailed accounts of the conduct of CRPF personnel Ram Kumar during the protest march. In their submission to the Commission, the representatives emphasized that such actions by security forces are a blatant violation of the democratic right to peaceful protest and human rights protocols.
”Our youth activists were legitimately protesting against the systemic failures that jeopardize the future of thousands of students across the nation. Instead of maintaining order, we were met with derogatory language and physical aggression from a specific CRPF official. We have brought this evidence before the Human Rights Commission to ensure that such high-handedness is strictly addressed and that justice is delivered,” a representative stated while exiting the Commission office.
Demand for Strict Administrative Accountability
The memorandum submitted to the THRC calls for an urgent and transparent inquiry into the events of the recent protest. The Youth Congress has urged the Commission to:
- Initiate an Independent Probe: Conduct a thorough investigation into the conduct of the involved CRPF personnel during the NEET/CBSE paper leak demonstrations.
- Ensure Accountability: Take disciplinary action against those found responsible for using abusive language and excessive force against peaceful protestors.
- Protect Democratic Rights: Issue directives to ensure that security forces strictly adhere to human rights standards during future public demonstrations.
The Human Rights Commission officials have acknowledged the receipt of the deputation and have assured the delegation that the matter will be thoroughly examined as per the prevailing legal guidelines. The Youth Congress leadership has vowed to monitor the progress of this complaint closely and continue their agitation if immediate remedial steps are not taken by the relevant authorities.
