AGARTALA: In anticipation of the historic seven-day Kharchi Puja and Mela, scheduled to take place from July 22 to July 28, West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar and Police Superintendent Namit Pathak, along with senior administrative officials, inspected the Chaturdash Devta Temple premises in Old Agartala on Friday.
The joint administrative visit was conducted to thoroughly review the physical preparations and on-ground logistics for the grand annual festival, which draws lakhs of devotees and visitors from across the region.
During the extensive inspection of the temple and fairgrounds, the administrative team assessed critical infrastructure plans, including overall security arrangements, crowd management, traffic control, sanitation, drinking water availability, and uninterrupted electricity supply. Measures to ensure emergency medical access and dedicated public services for visitors were also meticulously reviewed.
Following the inspection, the district administration stated that all necessary steps are being actively coordinated to ensure that the sacred Kharchi Puja and the accompanying fair are conducted in a peaceful, smooth, and completely hassle-free manner.
