AGARTALA: Demonstrations demanding the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan reached a crescendo today as the youth and student protest in the strategic Circuit House area of Agartala entered its fifth consecutive day.
The agitators continued their vocal sit-in protest near the high-security zone, raising fiery slogans against central educational policies and demanding strict action regarding examination irregularities and paper leak allegations.
Key Highlights of the Day 5 Demonstration:
- Sustained Sit-in Near Circuit House: Unfazed by rain or police presence, youth activists assembled in large numbers for the fifth straight day, blocking key approaches to the Circuit House.
- Firm Demand for Moral Resignation: Protesters reiterated that Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan must step down on moral grounds, asserting that millions of meritorious students across the nation are facing uncertainty due to administrative oversights.
- Growing Support Across Platforms: Student leaders highlighted that the ongoing demonstration in Tripura is part of a nationwide movement, receiving solidarity from democratic youth organizations, student bodies, and political groups across the country.
High Security and Vigilance
In response to the continuing sit-in, Tripura Police and paramilitary units maintained a tight security perimeter around Circuit House road. Multi-layered barricades remained deployed to prevent any unauthorized movement toward sensitive government buildings.
Addressing the gathering, youth leaders declared that if their demands continue to be ignored by the central administration, the agitation will be further intensified with statewide school-college strikes and rallies across all districts of Tripura.
