AGARTALA: In a strong display of civic responsibility and social resistance, the All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO) organized a high-profile citizen convention at the Agartala Press Club today. The crucial meet was called to raise a collective voice against the alarming rise in atrocities and violence targeting women and children across the country.
The primary objective of this state-level convention was to ensure the absolute success of the upcoming National Convention against atrocities on women and children, scheduled to take place in Hyderabad.
Addressing the gathering at the Agartala Press Club, key student leaders and prominent social activists expressed grave concern over the growing climate of insecurity faced by women and minors. The speakers emphasized that legal measures alone are insufficient and called for a massive, united social movement to build a safer environment. They highlighted that the impending Hyderabad national assembly will serve as a historic turning point to demand stringent structural protections and fast-track justice delivery.
A large number of civil society members, progressive thinkers, teachers, and student representatives attended the convention in Agartala. The gathering concluded with a unanimous resolution and a vibrant call to action, urging the conscious citizens of Tripura to actively participate in and support the national campaign to safeguard human rights.
