AGARTALA: In a major move to strengthen the voice of National Health Mission (NHM) employees across the state, the NHM United Forum has officially constituted its brand-new executive committee. The organizational setup was finalized during a crucial general meeting held at the Abhoynagar TB Hospital (Yaksha Nibani) Hall in Agartala.
The newly formed forum has been established with the primary objective of uniting health workers and systematically addressing long-standing grievances within the state healthcare system.
Following the formation of the new committee, leadership representatives announced that the forum will actively advocate for the rightful demands, pay scales, and job security of contractual and permanent NHM staff working under the Health Department. The committee explicitly stated that their immediate next step is to seek a high-level depository meeting with Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha to place their charter of demands directly before him.
The forum leaders expressed confidence that the Chief Minister, who also oversees the Health portfolio, will look into their genuine grievances compassionately. They emphasized that resolving these pending administrative issues is crucial to keeping the state’s grassroots medical infrastructure running smoothly. A large number of healthcare workers and NHM representatives from various districts were present at the Agartala TB Hospital hall to witness the committee formation.
