AGARTALA | July 8, 2026: To systematically review the structural development markers achieved under the central administration, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tripura Pradesh Committee today organized an interactive media symposium titled “Barta Alap” (Message Interaction) at the Agartala Press Club. The central interactive session focused primarily on analyzing the socio-economic transformations, infrastructure scaling, and foreign policy milestones executed under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 12-year governance tenure (2014–2026).
The media-centric symposium was directed by the BJP State Pradesh President and Member of Parliament (MP), Shri Rajib Bhattacharjee, alongside the President of the Agartala Press Club, Shri Pranab Sarkar.
Highlighting Northeast India’s Transformation from Peripheral Belt to Developmental Hub
The targeted event drew senior editors, independent columnists, electronic media bureau chiefs, and political analysts from across the state capital. The primary objective was to trace how central policy course-corrections over more than a decade have directly impacted the fiscal and structural growth patterns of smaller states like Tripura.
Addressing the media fraternity, Member of Parliament Rajib Bhattacharjee highlighted that the “Act East Policy” implemented under PM Modi completely dismantled the traditional isolation of the northeastern states.
”Over the last 12 years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has fundamentally redefined the operational relationship between New Delhi and the Northeast. What was once viewed as a geographically isolated peripheral belt has today been converted into the vibrant ‘Ashtalakshmi’ gateway of India’s international trade matrix. Through the implementation of mega welfare paradigms—such as the PM-Awas Yojana, Har Ghar Jal, and PM-Kisan—the central administration has successfully bypassed middle-tier leakages using robust Direct Benefit Transfers. As we assess this 12-year developmental journey today at the Agartala Press Club, it is clear that Tripura has been one of the highest beneficiaries of this double-engine layout, transitioning from chronic economic stagnation to a modern multi-modal logistical hub,” BJP State President and MP Rajib Bhattacharjee stated.
Agartala Press Club President Emphasizes Media’s Evaluative Role
Speaking from the presidential chair of the symposium, Agartala Press Club President Pranab Sarkar commended the initiative to hold a direct dialogue with working journalists. He emphasized that the media fraternity functions as a critical bridge, evaluating the ground-level execution of central schemes and communicating raw public feedback back to the administrative machinery.
The interactive part of the “Barta Alap” allowed senior correspondents to query the leadership on upcoming regional industrializations, the expansion of border trade via the Agartala-Akhaura rail link, and strategic allocations for localized youth employment pipelines.
The symposium concluded with a vote of thanks presented by the executive committee members of the Press Club, highlighting the importance of maintaining regular, constructive interactions between policy makers and the state’s media networks.
