The Border Security Force (BSF) has ramped up security measures along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Tripura, resulting in the arrest of 21 illegal infiltrators in recent operations during the festive season.
On October 19, BSF personnel apprehended 11 Bangladeshi nationals and 10 Rohingya migrants in coordinated efforts. The Bangladeshi nationals were discovered at Agartala Railway Station, where they were attempting to enter India illegally. Acting on intelligence inputs, BSF teams identified the suspicious movement and took the individuals into custody.
Meanwhile, in North Tripura, BSF officials intercepted a group of 10 Rohingya migrants, including women and children, who were trying to cross into Bangladesh. Preliminary questioning revealed that they had traveled from Delhi and Jammu with the intention of reaching Moulvibazar in Bangladesh.
These arrests highlight the BSF’s enhanced vigilance and operational readiness in preventing illegal crossings, human trafficking, and other trans-border crimes. Security measures have been intensified along vulnerable stretches of the border to deter infiltration during the festive rush.
The BSF continues to monitor the situation closely and is committed to safeguarding the border from illegal activities and ensuring the safety and security of the region.
