AGARTALA: Marking a historic transition toward data modernization, the first phase of India’s first-ever fully digital census has officially commenced across the country with the launch of the online self-enumeration process. Joining the digital initiative, Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumder has made a special appeal to all residents of Tripura to register their information online from the comfort of their homes.
The self-enumeration window officially opened on July 17 and is scheduled to continue until July 31.
Demonstrating the process firsthand, Mayor Dipak Majumder logged into the official portal and completed his online self-enumeration from his personal residence in Ramnagar, Agartala.
Speaking to the media, the Mayor emphasized the critical role of accurate public data in state planning. He noted that the Census 2027 framework has been engineered to be highly transparent, user-friendly, and technology-driven, eliminating manual errors and accelerating future development strategies. He urged the city’s residents, ward representatives, and local clubs to spread widespread awareness so that every household successfully completes its digital registration before the July 31 deadline.
