AGARTALA | June 25, 2026: In a reassuring gesture of administrative and humanitarian support, the Honorable MLA of Dharmanagar and Speaker of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, Shri Biswabandhu Sen, today visited matching resident Biswajit Dhar at the Govind Ballabh Pant (GBP) Hospital in Agartala.
Biswajit Dhar, a resident of Dharmanagar, has been battling a critical, long-standing bone marrow disorder and was admitted to the state’s premier referral hospital for specialized management.
State Government Sponsors Advanced Medical Transit
Following an extensive clinical evaluation by institutional hematologists at GBP Hospital, the medical board advised transferring the patient to a multi-specialty healthcare facility outside the state for advanced therapeutic procedures.
Thanks to the swift intervention of the state government’s healthcare welfare wings, all administrative clearances and financial logistics were fast-tracked to ensure a seamless medical referral. The patient is being flown out of the state today for premium treatment.

Dealing with complex bone marrow ailments requires highly advanced intervention, and we are relieved that through the dedicated efforts of our state healthcare apparatus, all arrangements for his out-of-state medical transit have been completed today. Accelerating Inter-State Emergency Referrals
The Directorate of Health Services has updated its operational framework to ensure that critical patients from distant sub-divisions receive immediate logistical backups:
- Financial Welfare Disbursals: Fast-tracking applications under the Chief Minister’s Special Medical Assistance Fund to lower the financial burden on low-income families during out-of-state transfers.
- Bed-to-Bed Transit Coordination: Establishing direct communication between GBP Hospital’s emergency cell and destination specialty hospitals to ensure zero delay upon arrival.
- Sub-divisional Monitoring: Setting up tracking systems at the district level so that patients from areas like Dharmanagar are flagged early for specialized tertiary care.
The patient’s family expressed their profound gratitude to the MLA and the hospital administration for their timely support in organizing the high-stakes medical transit.
